The Muslim contribution

Helping Hand for Relief and Development, a Muslim-run charity, has a variety of programs all over the world aimed at aiding the world’s poorest. Through their programs they seek to provide immediate responses to disaster victims, as well as provide sustainable solutions to the world’s poorest community.

The bulk of their income goes directly toward supporting their programs, with less than five percent of the income going towards administrative costs. HHRD was founded in 2005 upon the Islamic principle illustrated in the Quran: “They feed with food–despite their own desire for it– the indigent, and the orphan and the captive (saying): ‘We feed you purely for the sake of God. We desire no reward from you, nor thankfulness.”
