Being small affords them the opportunity to get to know the people they are helping on a more personal level: to learn their stories, their concerns, their hopes for the future, and to act according to their needs. Being small has also allowed them to work in areas where other charitable organizations can no longer operate – in areas throughout the Balkans and the Middle East where the need may not be as overwhelming statistically but is desperate individually.
